Fall is in the air and castonitis has arrived

Updated: Sep 29, 2023

Hey friends!

My favourite time of year has arrived and with it has come a desire to cast on many new things. The crisp mornings are calling for wool socks (worn with my Birks of course!) and a shawl while I sip my coffee on the porch. I have many socks, both in the mending basket and in the fresh laundered pile, and yet I am still craving to cast on some new ones. Is it weird that I am craving some vanilla socks?

I think a vanilla pair would be great to start so I can knit them while binging some Netflix after the kids go to bed. I have my eyes on some fall inspired yarn choices in my stash – what do you think of these lovlies?? It’s hard to pick what colour to cast on with first.

On top of the sock urge I am craving a new staple shawl to make and wear this fall – I think I have settled on knitting the Sunday Morning Shawl using some yarn from Red Sock Blue Sock Yarn co. Stay tuned for more on this development in the future.

Are you in need of some project inspiration? Check out these below projects that are speaking to me right now

On a non-knitting front, I am so ready for SOUP season! Is your family into soups or stews when the cool weather hits? I love making soup on the weekends, smelling it while it simmers away on the stove is just magic and such a great comfort after being out in the crips air cleaning gardens and raking leaves.

And with soup – there needs to be bread

Well I wish you a great first week of fall and talk again soon

Happy making,

Ashley
